Trade Mark Collections – UK market leading supplier of licensed children’s and students’ bags, umbrellas and related accessories – has been sold to William Lamb, a family owned UK leading distributer of footwear. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Cambridge based TMC was established in 1999 and holds licenses with key licensors such as Disney, Mattel and Entertainment One. The acquisition by William Lamb will allow it to develop its accessories division which already includes an element of children’s licenced bags.
David Hardless, who led the deal for PPCF, commented “We are delighted to have assisted the shareholders of TMC realise the value they have created over the last fifteen years. Owing to TMC’s established market position the business attracted the attention of William Lamb which led to an off-market transaction and subsequently a one-on-one negotiation. This transaction provides a great opportunity for TMC to continue growing under new ownership whilst William Lamb will seek to boost its own business from the many contacts held by TMC.”
Mark Hillson, principal shareholder of TMC, said “PPCF led the negotiation process with William Lamb to agree the principal terms of the transaction and then manage the transaction to completion whilst minimising disruption to the business.”
