Park Place advised Assisi Pet Care on its MBI of natural pet treats manufacturer Hollings and subsequent acquisition of Town and Country with funding provided by NatWest and Harwood Private Equity, part of the £1.7bn Harwood Capital Management Group set up by Chris Mills.
Assisi has an ambitious vision to become a leader in the European pet care sector and is actively seeking further acquisitions as this strategy is pursued.
Hollings, founded in Skipton in 1980, manufactures and supplies natural dog treats to independent and multiple retailers and wholesalers.
Town and Country, based in Melton Mowbray, markets an extensive range of dog and cat foods and treats, primarily under the popular HiLife brand.
Assisi CEO Peter Mangion commented “Having completed our first acquisition just five months ago, Assisi’s rapid growth trajectory is on track to deliver on our ambitious strategy to become a leader in the European pet care sector. This transformational deal has created a £35m turnover business which is well-placed to offer a huge array of products to the rapidly expanding pet care market.”
Tim Clarke, commented “It has been a pleasure to work with Peter once again at the start of this new journey having previously advised him on an MBO and subsequent acquisition. Peter has a track record of growing larger FMCG businesses and provides a wealth of experience which enhances the prospects for this exciting project to create an international player in a robust market.”
