MyMaths is a subscription website for schools which provides teachers and students with ready-made maths lessons and online homework tasks. The company has revolutionised the approach to teaching maths and has a dominant share of the secondary school market with over 75% of UK schools signed up.
The founders had received tentative, unsolicited approaches for the business from some of the heavyweights of the education publishing industry. As the business was at a crossroads in its development (with overseas expansions and new product development, such as MyScience, on the horizon), PPCF was appointed to advise the shareholders on their strategic options. Having concluded that they would be willing to sell the business at the right price, PPCF delivered a sale to Oxford University Press that achieved a value that fully reflected the exceptional strategic position and the positive cash flow characteristics of the business.
